Everyday Objects Thirteen reconstructed objects mounted on small shelves along with text describing women portraits on plexiglas pages. These objects everyday items; soap, broom, wooden spoon, reading glasses etc. are identified to belong into female sphere. In this social, emotional and cultural examination of womanhood, one of Banna’s sculptural structures is created by combining women hair with nails; the plexiglas sign chained to this composition has a quote describing a portray of a woman -50, married for 35 years, mother, farm worker. “I never felt the breeze in my hair. My hair never saw the sunshine…”- One other structure a heavily textured water jug from Anatolia has a quote describing a rural area teenager -14, never went to school. ….am I really going to drink all the water I want when I go to heaven?”
